90, of Cranston, passed away on Thursday, December 05, 2013 at the Philip
Hulitar Hospice Inpatient Center in Providence. He was the beloved husband
of the late Giovanna "Jennie" (Mattera) Celani.
Domenic was born in Providence, a son of the late Lorenzo and Arcangela
(Boezzi) Celani. Mr. Celani's first career was as a Master Carpenter and
Partner at Celani Construction, Inc. for 35 years. He then moved on and started
a business with his son, David Celani, D&D Cabinets, Inc. in Cranston where he
worked until retiring at the age of 85.
Domenic was a WW II Army veteran and a member of the Italian American
Historical Society, Order of the Sons of Italy and the St. Bartholomew's Church
Holy Name Society.
He is survived by his loving children, Diane Ruggieri of Cranston, David
Celani of Glocester and Domenic J. Celani of Hope Valley. He was also the
cherished grandfather of 6 and dear brother of Concetta Rabaiotti and Dario
Celani of Cranston. Domenic was also the father of the late Angela Celani
and brother of the late Mary Manni, Peter Celani and Jean Gaglione.
His funeral will be held on Monday at 9 am from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME
& Crematory 1278 Park Ave., Cranston followed a Mass Christian Burial at 10
am in St. Bartholomew's Church, Laurel Hill Ave., Providence. Burial with military honors will
take place in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. VISITING HOURS:Sunday 5-8 pm. In
