Domenico Lapati

87, of Cranston, passed away at HopeHealth Hospice and Palliative Care, Providence. He was the beloved husband of Maria (Palombo) Lapati for 67 years. He was the son of the late Luciano and Maria (Serrechia) Lapati. Born in Cassino, Italy, Domenico immigrated to the United States, where he built a life rich with love and dedication.

A man of many talents, Domenico worked as a machinist and carpenter for many years, skills that highlighted both his work ethic and creativity. His commitment to craftsmanship was mirrored in his personal life as well; he took great pride in his veggie garden and landscaping.

Domenico was an esteemed member of the Santa Maria di Prata Society for over 38 years, contributing significantly by helping with the construction of the building before it opened. His involvement in the society reflected his strong sense of community and dedication to fostering connections with those around him.

Besides his wife Maria, he is survived by his loving children, Domenic Lapati and his wife Robbin of Smithfield, and Maryanne Viscogliosi and her husband Fred of Palm Beach Gardens, FL. Cherished Grandpa of Michael James Viscogliosi. Brother of Evelina Miele, Antonietta Angelosanto and the late Lidia DiMonaco.

Visitation at the Nardolillo Funeral Home in Cranston, on Wednesday, June 18th, from 8:30-10:00 a.m. Following the visitation, a Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Mary Church, Cranston, at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be held in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
