Donald A. Barbato

81, of West Warwick peacefully entered into eternal rest on February 27, 2016 surrounded by his loving family. He will be remembered always as a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He was the beloved husband for 57 years to Dolores (Rega) Barbato. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Joseph and Della (Ammiano) Barbato.
Mr. Barbato ran his family's clothing store; Monticello's in North Providence until his retirement in 1994. Since his retirement he enjoyed nothing more than spending time with his family and his four grandchildren attending their sporting events and dance recitals.
He was the cherished father of four daughters; Della Barbato and partner Rachel Yee, Jacqueline and Neil Fradin, Lisa Crenca and partner Timothy Giammarco, and Leslie and Richard Jackson. He has left a legacy of love and devotion in his four grandchildren: Benjamin and Jamie Crenca and Samuel and Joshua Fradin. He was the loyal brother of Corrine Penza, Adele Blackman and the late Vincent, Joseph and Robert Barbato.
Mr. Barbato's family would like to express their sincere gratitude and appreciation to the of staff Miriam Hospital Intensive Care Unit and the Philip Hulitar Hospice Inpatient Center, who made Donald's last hours so comfortable and provided compassionate and loving care to us all.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Mass of Christian Burial on Friday at 10:30 am in Immaculate Conception Church, Oaklawn Ave., Cranston. Burial will be Private. VISITING HOURS: Thursday 3-7 pm in the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory 1278 Park Ave., Cranston.
