In Loving Memory
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, "Doris" Lucchesi, who peacefully departed on March 13, 2026, at age 91. Born on October 14, 1934, in Providence, Rhode Island, Doris lived a life rich in love, creativity, and compassion, leaving a lasting impact on all who knew her.
Doris was the cherished daughter of the late Joseph and Emily (Martin) Pimental. She attended Hope High School and furthered her education at Katherin Gibbs, becoming a skilled paralegal secretary. Her career began at Loring Studios in Providence, and later, she inspired young minds as a Teacher Assistant in Vermont.
A talented quilter and seamstress, Doris created beautiful works of art, reflecting her passion for oil painting, drawing, and crafts. Her love for gardening brought her peace and joy, and her creative spirit inspired family and friends, who treasured her handmade gifts.
Doris's life was marked by service and compassion, evident in her involvement with Stephen Ministries. Her deep faith and kindness were guiding lights to her family, who admired her gentle strength and unwavering love.
Predeceased by her husband, Alfred Lucchesi, and sister, Eileen Mahar, Doris is survived by her daughter, Cynthia Matarese; sons, Edward F. Holland Jr. and Stephen Holland (Ann); siblings, Joseph, Alan (Mary Ann), and Josaphine Pimental; grandchildren, Kayla Matarese, Karissa Pryor, and Keaghan Holland; and great-grandchildren, Lillyana, Lorenzo, Lucianna, and Ivan.
In her final years, Doris was lovingly cared for by her daughter Cynthia and the staff at Anchor Bay at Pocasset Memory Care. The family is profoundly grateful to Gentiva Hospice Care for their support.
Doris's legacy of love, resilience, and creativity will be dearly missed but forever remembered. Her laughter, wisdom, and gentle touch remain in our hearts, woven into a tapestry of cherished memories.
Funeral arrangements are private.
