also known as Dot, Dottie, Sister, Nana, Nani but most affectionally Mom, 91, of Cranston, passed away on Tuesday November 3, 2026, at Kent Regency in Warwick. She was the beloved wife of the late Richard Guerra.
Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late William and Maria (Restivo) Cipriano. Dorothy worked for various jewelry companies for many years before retiring. She enjoyed cooking her famous meatballs, lasagna and chicken soup for family and friends and especially enjoyed spending time with her family. Known for her sharp wit and no-nonsense love, Dorothy was never one to mince words. If you walked through her front door after getting caught in a rainstorm or waking up from a deep nap, she was guaranteed to look you up and down and affectionately tell you that you looked like 'the wreck of the Hesperus.' It was her own special way of saying, 'Come on in, clean up, and let me take care of you.'"
She was the devoted mother of Joyce McLarey and her husband James, Richard “Ricky” S. Guerra and his wife Cynthia and Marie DeQuattro and her husband Albert; loving grandmother of Shannon Reynolds, Stephanie Irace and Stephen Guerra; loving great-grandmother of Alexia, Kali, Julian and Natalie. She was the dear sister of Joanne Riccio and Carol Salera.
Her funeral will be held on Tuesday November 10, 2026, at 9:00 am from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory 1278 Park Ave. Cranston, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Immaculate Conception Church, 237 Garden Hills Drive Cranston at 10:00 am. Burial will follow in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
Visiting hours are Monday November 9, 2026 from 4:00 pm-7:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to: American Cancer Society PO Box 7312 Warwick, RI 02886.
