DOROTHY CORNWELL WALES JEPSON

DOROTHY CORNWELL WALES JEPSON, Age 105; wife for 60 years of the late Howard A. Jepson; died on Saturday, July 17, 2010 at Riverview HealthCare in Coventry. Daughter of the late Alfred A. and the late Bessie L. (Cornwell) Wales. Born, raised and educated in Providence; graduate of Hope High School Class of 1922. Employed as a bank teller. Resident of Cranston from 1935 till 1996. Mrs. Jepson was a lieutenant in the Red Cross Motor (Ambulance) Corps during World War II. She was a member of the Meshanticut Park Baptist Church and served as chairman of the fine arts committee during its construction. Dorothy served a term as president during her long membership years in the Meshanticut Park Garden Club. As a hobby, her skill at knitting, needlepoint and sewing, was superb and admired by many.

She is survived by one niece, Shirley F. Berry of Charlotte, NC; two nephews, Steven W. Jepson & his wife, Isabel, of Jamestown, RI;, and Donald H. Jepson & his wife, Dee, of Northampton, MA; four grandnephews, Harry A. Berry, Jr. of Charlotte, NC, George F. Berry of Atlanta, GA, Matthew Jepson of Concord, NH and David Jepson of North Salem, NH; three grand nieces, Shirley "Missy" Hill of Charlotte, NC, Kristin E. Foos of Santa Barbara, CA and Heather E. Wyatt of San Ramon, CA; four great-grandnephews; and four great-grandnieces.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service on Friday at 11:00 a.m. in Highland Memorial Park Mausoleum, 1 Rhode Island Ave., Johnston.
