passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on March 27, 2026. Born on April 10, 1942, in Providence, RI, Dorothy lived a life marked by dedication to her community, family, and the causes she passionately supported.
Throughout her career, Dorothy was known for her steadfast commitment and warm presence. She served as a lunch aide for the Cranston School Department, where her kindness and care were cherished by many students and staff alike. In addition, she devoted many years to working with Bank of America, earning respect for her professionalism and dedication.
Dorothy’s contributions extended beyond her professional life. She was deeply involved with her local parish as a valued member of the St. Joseph’s Women’s Guild. Her leadership spirit shone through when she became the first President of the Scituate High School Band Boosters, championing the arts and encouraging young musicians in her community.
Dorothy’s love for her family was a cornerstone of her life. She is survived by her husband, Alan Zambarano, Ret. Johnston Fire Chief; her children, Dorothy Pascale (Robert), Alan Zambarano (Bridget), and Lesley Depot (Michael); and her grandchildren Meagan Maloney (Gregory), Vito Chiarello, Joseph Zambarano, Dean Chiarello, PVT. 1st Class 82nd Airborne, Lauren Depot, Isabel Zambarano, and John Depot. Her family circle also includes great-grandchildren Aidan Maloney and Ethan Maloney, who brought her much joy. She is further survived by her sister, Arline Pepper, who shared a lifelong bond with Dorothy.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, John Marchetti and Angelina Petrozzi Marchetti, as well as her brother, Frank Marchetti.
VISITING HOURS will be held on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the Nardolillo Funeral Home & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave, Cranston, RI.
Her Funeral will be Thursday, April 2, 2026 at 8:45 a.m. from the Funeral Home followed by a Liturgy Blessing at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Church, 144 Danielson Pike, North Scituate, RI. Burial will take place in R.I. Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter.
