Dr. Aristido V. Santopietro

Of Narragansett, RI and Boca Raton, FL, died on March 21, 2017.  He was the husband of June M. (Altieri) Santopietro.  Born in Providence, he was a son of the late John and Antonetta (Marcella) Santopietro.

Dr. Santopietro was a graduate  of Classical High School in Providence, the University of Maryland and Georgetown University, where he received his Dental and Orthodontic training.  He received a Master’s Degree in Orthodontia in 1963.  Dr. Santopietro had a private practice in Cranston for 30 years, retiring due to illness in 1995.  He served as Chief Orthodontist at Joseph Samuels Dental Clinic at RI Hospital and held various positions in the Cranston and RI Dental Societies.

Dr. Santopietro served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was honorably discharged as a Staff Sergeant in 1955.

Besides his wife, he leaves three daughters, Lori Fitzsimmons and her husband John of Cranston, Linda Santopietro of Scottsdale, AZ, Dina Quirk and her husband Kevin of Darien, CT; four grandchildren John and Jenna Fitzsimmons, Alexandra and Caroline Quirk.  He was the brother of Anthony Santopietro of Warwick, Alba Fusco formerly of Johnston, Vera Ragosta of West Warwick and the late Virgil and John Santopietro.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday at 9:00 a.m. in St. Mary Star of the Sea Church, 864 Point Judith Rd., Narragansett.  Burial with Military Honors will take place in R.I. Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter.  Visiting hours are respectfully omitted.
