Dwight "DA" D. Annese

Dwight D. Annese also known by his nickname D.A. age 63, of Cranston Rhode Island, peacefully went to heaven on December 18, 2023 after a courageous health battle at his home in North Smithfield, in the arms of his wife and family.

He leaves to cherish him in memory his loving and adoring wife Norma Sellier Annese, adoring Mother Marie Annese, sister Marie Ann Annese, sons David and Derek, and stepchildren Tiffany, Steven, Jesse, Christopher, and Nicholas. Step grandchildren Kelsey, Tyler, Keyle, and Ivie Ann.

Dwight was born on December 5th, 1960, in Providence Rhode Island. He graduated in 1979 from Cranston West High School. Dwight had a great love and excitement for his chosen career in sales and manufacturing and enjoyed a successful and rewarding position as a sales representative for Tanury Industries, a family-owned and operated business in Lincoln Rhode Island. Dwight always said he had been blessed to have found his work “HOME”, which he truly did. Dwight will be lovingly remembered and missed dearly by his Tanury family.

Dwight had an uncanny ability to find happiness in his everyday activities. His warm and pleasant personality was uplifting and contagious to everyone he met. Dwight was a loving and devoted husband, father, stepfather, step grandpa, son, and brother. He was a true-blue friend and the ultimate gentleman; his friends say to this day. Dwight was a bright light, a kind human being and a man of his word that you could always count on.

The simplest pleasures in life brought him immense joy, no matter how ordinary, Dwight had a way of making those everyday moments exciting, rewarding, and special. Moments like the first sip of his morning coffee or the smell of his favorite dish cooking, you would always hear him chirping from another room, “Ooooh”, that smells so delicious. Dwight loved to eat and was called by those closest to him a professional eater; he was fun and made coming together for a meal an experience.

Dwight enjoyed spending time with his family and going on adventure walks with his wife Norma and their beloved and cherished dog and pal Patches, who went to heaven months ago and now has been reunited with his daddy never to be parted again as they walked over the rainbow bridge together.

He adored our home. Perched in a woodland area nestled in nature he called it our treehouse, because when we sit in our den, which is on the top floor of the house, with walls of windows it is like being in a treehouse – all you can see are the top halves of the trees and when it rains you feel like you are in the middle of a waterfall. This was Dwight’s haven.

His yard brought him joy and he spent hours making it look beautiful. An avid bird lover: he loved and cared for the birds that lived in his yard, especially his hummingbirds. He knew them all individually by site and cared for them year after year.

Dwight loved classic cars. And his 1990 ZR1 classic Corvette was king, a bona fide supercar that he took immense pride in. He was enthusiastic about Corvette history and could share every detail regarding them with precision. Dwight looked forward to his Sunday morning drives in his Vette on the vast winding neighboring country roads. A twenty-minute trip to nowhere he said brought him peace and tranquility. Dwight was also an active member of the Rhode Island Corvette Club and would participate in the New England car shows with his ZR1 Corvette winning best in its class on several occasions.

Dwightie, it broke our hearts to lose you, but you did not go alone, for part of us went with you, the day God called you home. XO
