Edith Campanini, beloved sister, friend, and lifelong Rhode Islander, passed away surrounded by family and love. Known for her quick wit, generous heart, and steady integrity, Edith brought laughter and warmth into every room she entered.
For many years, Edith owned and worked at Campanini’s Café, where her easy humor and welcoming spirit made the restaurant a place of community. Later, she joined her sisters Rose and Gloria at Conversations in East Greenwich, continuing to greet friends and strangers alike with the same kindness, sharp sense of humor, and honest charm that everyone adored.
Edith had a gift for connection — she loved people, and people loved her right back. Her laughter was unmistakable, her opinions refreshingly direct, and her friendship unwavering. She believed in standing up for what was right and never hesitated to protect those who couldn’t protect themselves. Edith was a woman of conscience, compassion, and courage — and she made everyone she met feel seen and valued.
She will be deeply missed by her sister Gloria, her family, and the many friends whose lives she touched with her warmth and humor.
Her funeral will be held on Wednesday, February 25th, at 9:30 a.m., from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston, followed by her Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. in Our Lady of Mercy, East Greenwich. Burial will be held in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. VISITING HOURS: Wednesday morning from 8:30-9:30 a.m.
