Edward B. Lawrence
85, of Cranston passed away on Tuesday, August 11, 2015 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Dorothy (Miranda) Lawrence. Born in East Providence, he was the son of the late Manuel and Angelina (Roderick) Lawrence.
Edward was a US Navy Veteran, and was employed as a foreman for the Leesona Corporation for many years before his retirement. In his youth he served in the church as an altar boy. From a young age he developed a strong passion for sports, shown in his many accolades as a track star in school and becoming an avid golfer.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his loving children, Jo-Ann L. DiBiasio and her husband Steven of Cranston, Kathleen Idskou and her husband Robert of Cranston and the late Edward B. Lawrence, Jr; cherished grandchildren, Erika and Kimberly Lawrence, Justin, Jeremy, David, Alysha, Christine and Amber DiBiasio, Brandon, Kaitlyn and Jay Idskou, and four great-grandchildren. He was also the brother of the late Amelia Kosman.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday at 11 am in Immaculate Conception Church, Garden Hills Dr., Cranston. Burial will take place in RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted.
