EDWARD R. ROSSI, SR

80, of Johnston, passed away on Saturday, December 7, 2013 at Our Lady of Fatima Hospital in North Providence, surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Frances (Jasparro) Rossi for 58 years. Born in Johnston, he was the son of the late Arduino and Assunta (Carcieri) Rossi. Mr. Rossi was an Army Veteran serving during the Vietnam War Era. Edward was the Meat Manager employed at Stop & Shop, and the proprietor of the VFW Post in Johnston, both for 35 years. He enjoyed time on the water and on the beach with his many friends.

Besides his wife, he is survived by his son Edward R. Rossi, Jr. and his wife Frances of Johnston and the late Richard E. Rossi. Edward was the cherished grandfather of Dr. Deanna Rossi. He was the brother of Anthony and Louis Rossi, both of Johnston and the late Daniel, Albert, Joseph Rossi, and Anna DeQuattro.

His funeral will be held from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston on Wednesday at 9 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Our Lady of Grace Church, Johnston at 10 a.m. Burial, with Military Honors, will take place in Highland Memorial Park, Johnston. VISITING HOURS are Tuesday 5-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital, P.O. Box 1000- Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38148-0142.
