Betty received her Bachelors and Masters degrees from Fordham University and Administrative Professional degree from St. Johns University. She was a dedicated, devoted teacher her entire existence. She taught in parochial schools in New York for eleven years at the start of her career when she was a nun, Sister Denis Martin. She knew her vocation and skills could be served by leaving the religious order and continued her teaching at Seton Academy in Yonkers, NY and then for the majority and remainder of her career in the New York City School system in the Bronx and Queens. She taught and motivated thousands of students to truly become successful and accomplished, but more importantly, inspired them to attain fulfillment in their lives as balanced human beings.
She was full of life, charisma and beauty. She danced and sang her way through all life events, performing in school and beyond, winning dance contests as a young adult in NYC, and tap dancing well into her 80’s. She will be remembered by all by these wonderful displays of talent and pure entertainment energy.
She was loving and extremely generous to all. Her spirit of giving of herself will be felt and remembered by all who knew her. Her love and light will remain in the hearts of all her family and friends.
