Ellen C. (Newell) Fortin

81 of Cranston, Passed away Thursday November 5, 2026.

Born in Worcester, MA she was the daughter of the late Edwin and Thelma (Underwood) Newell.

Ellen was employed by the Cranston School Department as a Bus Aid for several years.

She was a wonderful mother, grandmother and great grandmother whose family meant everything to her. Ellen had a special love for her children, grandchildren and great grandson. She always cared deeply for them, took pride in their lives, and cherished the time she spent with each of them.

She is survived by her two daughters; Lisa Idowu and her husband Kayode of Cranston and Jenn DeVoe and her husband Peter of NH, her son Jason Fortin and his wife Michelle of Cranston. She was the grandmother of Koye, Kemi and his wife Haley, Olivia and her husband Steven and Julia. She was the great grandmother of Romeo. She was the sister of the late Edwin Newell Jr.

Her funeral arrangements will be private.
