Elvira (Riccitelli) Buonanno

99, of Cranston, passed away on Thursday, June 15, 2017 surrounded by her loving family.  She was the beloved wife of the late Adolf Buonanno.  Born in Cranston, she was the daughter of the late Domenico and Elvira (Valerio) Riccitelli.

Elvira married the love of her life, Adolf, and shared 60years together before he passed away in 2008. She was a proud mother of two sons and even more proud to be the “Nana” to three grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.  She was a devoted wife, mother, and friend.  She enjoyed celebrating holidays and family get-togethers; any chance to spend time with her family and friends was important to her.  She would spend hours cooking and preparing desserts with love.  Those who were lucky enough to have tasted her dishes would forever remember her essence and culinary talents. She will be forever missed by all that knew and loved her.

She is survived by her loving sons, Dr. A. Robert Buonanno and his wife Deborah of Cranston, Dr. William S. Buonanno of Cranston; cherished grandchildren Marisa Hamrah and her husband Gary of New Jersey, A. Robert Buonanno, Jr. and his wife Liana of New York, Leticia Burman and her husband Andrew of Saunderstown; dear great grandchildren Francesca, Daniel and Nicholas Hamrah, Benjamin and Thomas Buonanno, Mallorie and Audrey Burman.  She was the sister of the late Mary Basilico, Hilda Vinagro, Valia DeCristofaro, Gilda Ricci, John Riccitelli, Carlo Riccitelli, and Ralph DeCristofaro.

Her funeral will be held on Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. in St. Mary's Church, Cranston, concelebrated by Bishop Louis Gelineau and Bishop Robert Mulvee.  Burial will take place in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.  VISITING HOURS are Tuesday 4:00 – 8:00 p.m.
