Elvira M. Urena

Elvira M. Urena, 88 of Johnston, passed away on Friday July 17, 2026, with her family by her side. Born in the Dominican Republic she was the daughter of the late Felix Urena and Blasina Alvarez. She was the devoted wife of the late Regino Gomez.

A natural born caregiver, she was a devoted, and loving homemaker caring for her children and then for her grandchildren.

She is survived by her nine children Dario Gomez, Olga Gomez, Luis Gomez, Carmen Gomez, Martiza Gomez, Nelcida Gomez, Rafael Gomez, Marie Gomez, and Yumery Gomez. She was the devoted grandmother of twenty-five grandchildren, twenty-five great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren. She was the beloved sister of Epifania “Fana” Urena, and Ramon “Blanquin” Urena, she was predeceased by nine siblings. She also leaves many extended family members and friends.

Her Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday July 25, 2026, at 9:00 am, at Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church, 791 Potters Ave., Providence, 02907. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery. Everyone is asked to go directly to the church. Visiting hours will be held on Friday July 24, 2026, from 4:00 – 8:00 pm at the Nardolillo Funeral Home, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston, RI 02910
