Esther (Iafrati) Caprio

of Cranston, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 28, 2017.  She was the beloved wife of the late Salvatore Caprio.  They were married for 66 years.  Born in Cranston, Esther was a daughter of the late Carlo and Dora (Lanzi) Iafrati.  Mrs. Caprio worked for the Ann Wells Salons as a receptionist prior to retiring.

She is survived by her children Sandra Souto (David) of Seekonk, MA and Dr. Anthony Caprio (Dana) of Wilbraham, MA.  Esther was the cherished grandmother of Candace Karlson (Peter), Alison Moreau (Keith), Stefanie Carter (Kevin) and Mark Caprio.  She was the great grandmother of eight and was the dear sister of the late Maria Bianca Moretti, and John, Philip and Edmund Iafrati.  Esther also leaves behind beloved nieces and nephews and especially her devoted niece Denise Moretti-Foggo.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Bartholomew Church, Providence on Saturday at 11 a.m.  Burial will take place in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.  Visiting hours are respectfully omitted.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: The Esther and Salvatore Caprio Endowed Scholarship Fund, Western New England University, 1215 Wilbraham Road, Springfield, MA 01119 or Community VNA, 10 Emory Street, Attleboro, MA 02703.
