Evangelynn 'Van' A. (Smith) Stebenne

63, of West Kingston, passed away on Saturday, August 30, 2014 peacefully at home, surrounded by her loving family. Evangelynn was the beloved wife of Robert "Bob" Stebenne. Born in Lake Charles, LA, she was a daughter to Josephine (Mainella) Smith and the late William Tyler Smith. Van was a dedicated artist and an avid lover of horses, the ocean and sunshine. She loved her one and only pet cat, "Mango" and was also known to be a great cook. Most importantly, Van was a terrific mother, grandmother and took enormous pride caring for her family, who loves her unconditionally. She was loved by all who knew her and will deeply missed, but always remembered.
Besides her husband, she is survived by her adoring children, Nicholas R. Stebenne and his wife Vanessa of Richmond, Elizabeth A. Stebenne of Narragansett, and Zachary R. Stebenne of Newport. Evangelynn was the cherished grandmother of Ryker Stebenne and sister of Tyler Smith of Tiverton and Alexis Leonard of West Greenwich.
Her funeral will be held from the Nardolillo Funeral Home & Crematory, SOUTH COUNTY CHAPEL (Rt. 1A), 1111 Boston Neck Road, Narragansett on Wednesday at 8:45 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Thomas More Church, 53 Rockland Street, Narragansett at 10:00 a.m. Burial will take place in St. Francis Cemetery, Wakefield. VISITING HOURS are on Tuesday from 4:00-7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to, Angels on Horseback, Therapeutic Riding School, P.O. Box 88, Bradford, RI, 02808.
