Evelina G. (Petrarca) Valenta
86, of Johnston, passed away on Tuesday, February 10, 2015 at Miriam Hospital, Providence. She was the beloved wife of the late Umberto Valenta. Born in Fornelli, Italy she was a daughter of the late Orazio and Carmina (Lancellotta) Petrarca.
She worked as a seamstress for the former Harris Furs for many years before her retirement.
She is survived by her loving children, Lia Valenta Flowers and her husband Larry of Coatesville, PA, John Valenta of Johnston, and Aldo Valenta of Harrisville, and the late Silvana Valenta; 3 cherished granddaughters Briana, Victoria, and Lauren Valenta; dear siblings Antonia Lucia Antonaccio of North Providence, Pasquale Petrarca of El Segundo, CA, JoAnne (Giovanna) Gauthier of Clermont, FL. She was the sister of the late Giuseppina Marini, Vincenzo Petrarca, and Rina D'Errico.
Funeral from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston on Saturday at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. in Our Lady of Grace Church, George Waterman Rd., Johnston. Entombment will take place in St. Ann Cemetery Mausoleum, Cranston. VISITING HOURS will be Friday from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. Donations may be made to Our Lady of Grace Church, 4 Lafayette St., Johnston, RI 02919.
