Faith C. (Moretti) DeCataldo

92, passed away peacefully in her home on August 12, surrounded by her loving family. She was blessed with excellent health for nearly her entire life, a gift for which her family is deeply grateful.

Born in Providence, Rhode Island on March 14, 1934, Faith was the daughter of the late Michael and Sadie Moretti, the owners of the Vilmoray Cafe in Cranston, where she worked as a waitress growing up. Upon marrying her beloved husband, the late Salvatore DeCataldo, with whom she shared 45 wonderful years of marriage, she transitioned into her true calling as a stay-at-home mother. She dedicated her entire life fiercely and completely to her family.

Faith was a woman of vibrant passions and immense vitality. She loved shopping, cooking, and going for walks, frequently walking for hours at a time. She treasured her long visits to Florida, where she and Salvatore would stay for months at a time to spend time with her son and his family. Faith also had a deep love for music and old classic movies. She was a true film scholar who knew everything about classic Hollywood actors and behind-the-scenes trivia; if there had ever been a game show dedicated to old movies, Faith would have easily been the champion. Known for her sharp wit and absolute authenticity, Faith was a strong-willed woman who always told it exactly like it was, whether you liked it or not.

There was not a phony bone in her body. She possessed the rare gift of being able to strike up a conversation with anyone, often delivering perfectly timed, funny remarks that would make anyone laugh. Faith was also defined by her impeccable standards; her clothes, drawers, and closets were always neat as a pin. She took great pride in her appearance, always looking beautiful, and was admired by many for her stunning complexion and skin like glass.

She will be missed more than words can ever say. Her passing leaves a heartbreak in the center of her family that will never truly mend.

Faith leaves her loving children, Faith Kuszay and her husband Joseph and Michael DeCataldo and his wife Margarita; her brother, Donald Moretti; four cherished grandchildren, Darlene DeCataldo, Michael Kuszay, Christopher Kuszay and Michael DeCataldo; and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Raymond Moretti, Vilma Moretti and Hope Joslin.

Her funeral will be held on Monday, August 17, 2026 at 10am from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
