Filomena 'Minnie' (Gentile) Buonanno
96, passed away on Saturday, August 9, 2014, at St. Antoine Residence in North Smithfield. She was the beloved wife of the late Orlando Buonanno. Born in Winsted, CT, the daughter of the late John and Maria (Mirando)Gentile, she came to RI in 1923 settling in Providence, moving to Johnston in 1959 and to Warwick in 2005.
Minnie was co-owner with her husband of Buonanno's Drug Store on Pocasset Ave., Providence for 40 years before retiring in 1995.
She was the devoted mother of Donna R. Bevilacqua and her husband Joseph of North Providence, Deborah M. Consove and her husband Gerald of Providence and Douglas J. Buonanno and his wife Susan of Narragansett; loving grandmother of Joseph, Robert, Amanda, Douglas and Emily; and dear sister of the late Celia Langello, Rita DiSanto, Louise Sarno and Christopher, Benny, Sam and Albert Gentile.
Funeral from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston on Saturday, August 16th at 10:30 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary's Church, 1525 Cranston St., Cranston at 11:30 a.m. Burial will be at St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
VISITING HOURS are SATURDAY MORNING from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
