Francis J. Caniglia

92, of Cranston, passed away on Thursday, February 9, 2017 at the Riverview Healthcare Community in Coventry.

He was the beloved husband of the late Elizabeth “Pearl” (Holt) Caniglia.  Born in Cranston, he was the son of the late Raymond J. and Inez (Lorenzo) Caniglia.

Francis was a Lieutenant for the Cranston Police Department for many years before his retirement.  He was an avid boater and loved camping.

He is survived by his daughter Sandra Gillissie and grandchildren Robert, Michael and Timothy Gillissie.

His funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. in the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston.  Burial will take place in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.  VISITING HOURS are WEDNESDAY MORNING from 9 - 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: Operation Stand Down RI, 1010 Hartford Avenue, Johnston, RI 02919 or www.osdri.org.
