Franco Carnevale

Franco Carnevale, 71, of Johnston passed away at his home on Monday, January 2, 2023. Born in Pico, Italy, he was the son of the late Antonino Carnevale and Maria Conti. Franco emigrated to the U.S. in the mid-1970’s.

Franco was a toolmaker by trade, working in the jewelry industry in both Rhode Island and Louisiana.  He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, often making his rounds of visits on a daily basis. He especially enjoyed his morning walks and foraging for mushrooms.

The only son of seven children, Franco is survived by five of his sisters: Rosa of Johnston, Marisa of Stoneham, MA, Filomena “Mena” and Lucia of Pico, Italy and Anna of Pontecorvo, Italy. He was predeceased by his sister Liana also from Sezze, Italy. He was a dear uncle to twelve nephews and three nieces living throughout the world, and leaves many cousins, relatives and friends. Franco is also survived by two children, Tiffany of Delray Beach, FL and Luca of Johnston.

His FUNERAL will leave at 9 a.m. from the Nardolillo Funeral Home & Crematory, on Saturday, Jan. 7, 2023, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Rocco’s Church, 927 Atwood Ave., Johnston. Burial will be private. VISITING HOURS will be held Friday, Jan. 6 from 6 to 8 p.m.
