Frank Pelli

96, formerly of Cranston, Warwick and West Warwick, a retired Teamster, died at home in Red Lodge, Montana on April 24. He was the husband of the late Lois M. Pelli. They had been married for 56 years. Born on August 28, 1918, in Cranston, a son to the late Alessandro Pelli and Oliva (Moretti) Pelli. He was a longtime resident of Warwick and West Warwick, moving to Williamsburg, VA in 1998 and Red Lodge in 2013. Mr. Pelli was a truck driver for over 30 years, driving for Harmon Trucking, supplying A & P grocery stores, and was later employed by Specter Freight, making deliveries of general freight to locations in the local area. He was a WWII veteran, joining the Army Air Corps in August 1941, serving in the 747th Squadron, 456th Bomb Group, 15th Air Force in Italy from February 1944 to July 1945 as a master sergeant airplane maintenance crew chief. He later returned to the Air Force in 1947, serving in Germany in the Berlin Airlift, 1948-1949, with the 61st Troop Carrier Group. Mr. Pelli leaves his daughter, Jo Ann Weston of Mariposa, CA, his son Frank D. Pelli of Red Lodge, MT, grandchildren Mark Weston, Jennifer (Weston) Olivo, Ashley Pelli and Frank D. Pelli, Jr. and great grandchildren Aiden Weston and Olivia Pelli. Also surviving are his sister Melina Petrucci of Cranston and brother Roger of Saunderstown. In addition to his wife and parents, he was also preceded in death by his brothers Anthony Pelli and John Pelli. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, May 23rd, at 10:00 a.m. in St. Mary's Church, Cranston Street, Cranston. Burial, with Military Honors, will be held in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, P.O.
