92, of Providence, passed away on Wednesday, May 28, 2014. He was the beloved husband of Angela (Madonia) Poli for 66 years. Born in Bristol, RI he was a son of the late Albert and Frances (Giglio) Poli.
Frank worked as a toolmaker for the former Imperial Knife Co. in Providence for many years until his retirement. He was a World War II Navy Veteran who was recently honored by U.S. Senator Jack Reed. He served in the Pacific on the PT-349 for the U.S. Navy during his service.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his loving children, Patti A. Goldstein and her husband Howard of Narragansett, and Frank J. Poli, Jr. and his wife Cynthia of Arlington, VA; cherished grandchildren Mark Goldstein of Massachusetts, Christopher Poli of Virginia, Dean Poli of Montana, and the late Dawn Cute; dear great grandson Maxwell Dylan Cute of Narragansett; siblings Emily DeJesus and Anna Gorman both of Cranston. He was also the brother of the late Alphonse, Jay, Albert, and Armando Poli, Angelina Spicuzza, Antonetta Bessacini, Teresa Aquino, and Frances Carcieri.
Funeral from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston on Saturday at 8:45 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Pius Church, 55 Elmhurst Ave., Providence. Burial with Military Honors will take place in St. Mary's Cemetery, Bristol.
