Frank Ruggieri

95, of Cranston, passed peacefully at Brookdale of New England with his family by his side. He was the husband of the late Josephine (Esposito) Ruggieri. A lifelong resident of Cranston, he was the son of the late Salvatore and Arcangela (Capirchio) Ruggieri.

During WWII, Frank enlisted 6/1942 in the United States Navy serving until 1945 on the USS Sproston in the Alucian Islands and South Pacific as a Fire Controlman. He retired from Quonset Point as an Electrician Supervisor and owner of Ruggieri’s TV Repair, affectionately known as the “TV Repair Man” in the Knightsville community. He was a 3rd Degree Knight and member of the Cranston Knights of Columbus #1738 for 52 years and a 4th Degree Knight of St. Pius X Assembly #1060.  Also, he was a lifelong member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.  Frank enjoyed family gatherings, gardening, golfing and bowling with the Manton Seniors for many years.

This past year he enjoyed the comfort and care given to him by his extended family, the Staff at Brookdale of New England.

He is survived by his daughters Corinne Roy and her husband David of Cranston and Gail Ruggieri of Warwick; his grandsons Kevin Roy of Cranston, and Bryan Roy and his partner Alan Campo of Cranston; and his friend and companion Mildred “Millie” Mehrman.  He was the brother of the late Pasco Ruggieri , Rose Bouchard, Viola Salvagna and Teresa DeCristofaro. He is also survived by siblings Mary Nauman of Smithfield and Helen Tedino of Greenville and many nieces and nephews.  Frank will be sadly missed.

His funeral will be held on Monday, August 15TH at 10 a.m. from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary’s Church, 1525 Cranston St., Cranston at 11 a.m.  Burial with military honors will be at St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.  VISITING HOURS are MONDAY MORNING from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m.
