Franklin H. Robinson, Jr

died peacefully in his home in Narragansett, RI on February 23, 2015. Born June 15, 1923, in New Haven, CT, he served in WWII as a B17 bomber pilot. He received both his Bachelors and Masters degrees from Springfield College. Frank was a teacher of Physical Education and coach at Rye High School and White Plains High School in New York followed by 31 years teaching and coaching at Hall High School in West Hartford, CT. He received many prestigious awards for coaching, most notably the inductions to the National High School Coaches Hall of Fame for both Wrestling and Football. He was the beloved husband of the late Claire Saunders Robinson. Frank is survived by son James Robinson and wife Nancy of Stoddard, NH, daughter Susan Lacus and husband Richard of Martha's Vineyard, MA, son Franklin Robinson III and wife Kristen of West Hartford, CT, daughter Holley Serpa and husband David of Charlestown, MA, sister Jeanne Samoden and husband Robert of Acton, ME, as well as eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral service on Saturday at the Nardolillo Funeral Home, South County Chapel, 1111 Boston Neck Road (Route 1A), Narragansett, RI. Visiting hours will be from 11:00-12:00 noon, followed by a funeral service at 12 noon. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 21, 2015 at 3:00 p.m. in the Franklin H. Robinson Jr. Gymnasium at William H. Hall High School, 975 North Main Street, West Hartford, CT 06117. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Friends of Hall Football, 394 North Quaker Lane, West Hartford, CT 06119.
