90, of Cranston, passed away on Thursday, April 17, 2014. Born August 17, 1923 in Bristol, RI, he was the son of the late Domenic and Assunta (Vigilotti) Zampini. Guy was a 1943 graduate of Central High School where he was the captain of their gymnastics team. After graduation, Mr. Zampini was drafted into the United States Army during WW-II serving 29 months in the European Theatre of Operations and North Africa with Battery 'D' 112th Anti Aircraft Artillery Gun Battalion as a Radar Crewman. His Decorations and Citations included the Good Conduct Medal; the Victory Medal; Croix De Guerre with Palm Order 1286 Government of France and the European African Middle Eastern Theatre Campaign Ribbon. He was the owner of Guy M. Zampini Hardwood Floor Installations for over 50 years. A quite man with a quick wit and a dry sense of humor, he enjoyed watching sports, a good breakfast and a great cup of coffee. He was known to many as the "Ultimate Gentleman". He leaves behind his wife of 65 years, Palma E. (Ricci) Zampini; his son, Guy M. Zampini (Adrienne) and his daughter Paula E. Zampini-Capozzi (Gerald C.); as well as his favorite niece, Janice M. Luther of North Providence and many other nieces and nephews. Guy was the brother of Lucy Fusco of Cranston and the late Nicholas, Louis, Felix and Joseph; and sisters Frances M. Luther and Teresa Ferrarri. Funeral from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory 1278 Park Avenue Cranston on Wednesday, April 23, 2014 at 9:00am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Rocco's Church Atwood Avenue Johnston at 10:00am, followed by graveside services with Military Honors at St Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
