89, of Susan Dr., Cranston, passed away on Sunday, May 31, 2015 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband for 60 years of Anna M. (Conti) Companatico. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Domenico and Emilia (Fusco) Companatico.
Gennaro worked for the U.S. Postal Service for 34 years and was one of the first team members of the Automated Turnkey Operation in Providence and later worked for Blue Cross/Blue Shield of RI for ten years before retiring. He was a WW-II Army Air Forces veteran.
Besides his wife Anna, he was the devoted father of Denise Vincelette and her husband Gerard of Cranston, Domenic Companatico of Coventry and the late Gennaro Companatico, II; loving grandfather of Nicholas, Katharine and Sarah Vincelette and Samantha and Genna Companatico; and dear brother of Rose DiGennaro of Cranston, Ines Morrocco and her husband Joseph of Elon, NC and the late Elsa Solitro.
Funeral from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston on Thursday at 10 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mark's Church, 9 Garden Court, Cranston at 11 a.m. Burial with military honors will be at St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. VISITING HOURS are THURSDAY MORNING from 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m.
