86, of Cranston, passed away on Sunday, June 29, 2014 at Rhode Island Hospital in Providence surrounded by his family. He was the beloved husband of the late Dolores R. (McPhillips) Bonetti. They were married for 34 years. He was raised in Providence, the son of the late Potito and Carmela (Checchia) Bonetti. Mr. Bonetti was proud to have been employed as a machinist at the Uniroyal Company in Providence for the better part of his working life. He was also proud to have served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. George enjoyed many hobbies, but he had a particular passion for ballroom dancing through which he made countless friends as a professional dancing instructor.
Mr. Bonetti is survived by three siblings, Anna Hughes, of North Kingstown, Alice Bianco of Cranston and Edward J. Bonetti, Sr. of East Providence. He was the brother of the late Carmela Sivo, Leonard P. "Pat" Bonetti, Antonio "Jim" Bonetti and Joseph Bonetti. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews from the Bonetti and McPhillips families.
His funeral will be held on Tuesday at 9 a.m. from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory 1278 Park Ave. Cranston, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Immaculate Conception Church, Cranston. Entombment with Military Honors will take place in St. Ann's Cemetery Mausoleum in Cranston.
