George S. Cowen, Esq.

George S. Cowen, Esq. 71, of Westwood, NJ, passed away peacefully on August 11, 2015, surrounded by his family in Narragansett, RI, after a brave battle with cancer. He was the beloved husband of forty-eight years to Dr. Vicki A. Lucia Cowen. Born in Teaneck, NJ, he was a son of the late John J. and Ethel (Mason) Cowen. George was a self-employed attorney for over forty years. He was a member of the American Bar Association. Besides his wife he is survived by his loving daughters, Judy A. Caruso of Fairfield, CT and Dawn M. Pagano and her husband John of Narragansett. George was the cherished grandfather of John Arthur, Caitlin, and Jaclyn. He was the brother of Rosemary Cowen and her partner Linda Burke of Toms River, NJ, and the late John Dennis Cowen, and Barry Joseph Cowen. He was the brother-in-law of Elaine Cowen of Bradenton, FL and the father-in-law of the late Joseph Caruso. His cremation was private in Rhode Island. A Memorial Celebration of Life in New Jersey will be announced at a later date.
