84, of Cranston, passed away on Thursday, April 10, 2014 at Rhode Island Hospital in Providence. He was the beloved husband of Sophia (Zarokostas) Tzanetos for 52 years.
Born in Sambatiki, Greece, he was a son of the late Panagiotis and Metaxia (Sarris) Tzanetos.
George came to the United States from Greece in 1963. He opened George's Grille in 1968, that he owned and operated for over 30 years, retiring in 2001. He enjoyed spending time with his family and taking trips back to Greece.
He is survived by his loving children, Peter Tzanetos of Dedham, MA, and Metaxia "Tasha" Capraro and her husband Ron of Cranston; cherished grandchildren George, Joseph, and Peter Tzanetos; dear siblings Nikos Tzanetos and Athanasia Bournakis both of Greece. He was the brother of the late Fani Zarokostas, Konstandinos Tzanetos, and Ageliki Sideris. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Funeral from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston on Monday at 9:15 a.m. followed by a Funeral Service at 10:30 a.m. in the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, Oaklawn Avenue, Cranston. Burial will take place in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. VISITING HOURS will be Sunday from 4 - 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, N.E.
