Giacomina 'Jennie' (Macari) Fratiello
Jennie Fratiello entered the kingdom of Heaven on Wednesday, March 5, 2014. At the time of her peaceful passing, she was holding hands with her adoring daughter. She was the beloved wife of the late Orlando "Al" Fratiello. They were so in love and, at the time of Al's death, they had enjoyed a happy marriage of more than 47 years.
Born in Providence, she was the youngest daughter of the late Gabriel and Elizabeth (Masso) Macari. Having spent most of her life in Providence, Jennie lived her last eight years in Jamestown at the home of her daughter, Elizabeth Anne Mancini and her partner, Harry Hoopis.
Mrs. Fratiello graduated from Central High School with honors. Before her marriage, she was a supervisor in the U.S. Army Ordnance Department whose mission was to support development production, acquisition and sustainment of weapon systems, ammunition and ground mobility material during peace and, in war, provide combat power to the U.S. Army. Although she was a sweetheart "stay-at-home" mom to her only child, in later years, she was employed in the watchband accessory and jewelry industry.
Mrs. Fratiello was idolized by her daughter and partner, living many happy years in their seaside home in Jamestown. She was always the happiest, when she spent time with her daughter cooking, shopping, going to craft fairs. Her delicious holiday meals consisted of endless courses of food, all prepared by her and thoroughly enjoyed by her family.
Jennie also enjoyed music-playing piano and singing, dancing, theater, reading and word puzzles.
She is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth Anne Mancini and her partner, Harry Hoopis. She is also survived by her brother, Edward Macari and was predeceased by her sisters, Marietta Charbonneau and Connie Marandola, and her brother, John Macari.
Mrs. Fratiello had been a member of the Society of the Madonna della Consolazione and the Kelley Gazzero VFW Post in Cranston.
Her passing leaves emptiness beyond words to her daughter and partner, her loving family of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews and her many friends of St. Mark's Parish in Jamestown.
Funeral from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston on Monday at 9:45 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in St. Bartholomew Church, 297 Laurel Hill Avenue, Providence. Burial will take place in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. VISITING HOURS will be Sunday from 4 - 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Jamestown Fire Department, EMS Division, ATTN: Chief Bryer, 50 Narragansett Avenue, Jamestown, RI 02835.
