Gilbert G. Bedetta, Sr

86, of Cranston passed away on Monday, September 1, 2014 at RI Hospital, Providence surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Angela (Soscia) Bedetta. They were married for the past 56 years. He was born in Providence, a son of the late Henry and Marietta (Ricci) Bedetta. Mr. Bedetta was a drafting teacher for the Warwick School Department for 20 years until his retirement; and was a US Army veteran.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his loving children, Gilbert G. Bedetta, Jr. and his wife Lisa of Cranston and Steven A. Bedetta and his wife Debra of Warwick. He was also the dear brother of Yolanda Bedetta of Cranston, Barbara McKenna of FL and grandfather of Hollie, Ryan, Emily, Brooke, Christina and Sarah. Gilbert was also the loving father of the late Karen Anne Cooper and brother of the late Gladys Gasbarino, Esther Paolo, Eugene Bedetta and George Bedetta.
His funeral will be held on Thursday at 10 am from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory 1278 Park Ave., Cranston, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am in St. Mary's Church, Cranston. Burial with military honors will take place in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. VISITING HOURS: Thursday morning 9-10 am.
