Gilda M. (Fuini) Lawson
90, of North Providence, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 13, 2013 at Philip Hulitar Hospice Inpatient Center in Providence surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of the late Robert Lawson, Sr. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Olivio and Rose (SanAntonio) Fuini.
Gilda worked at Browne & Sharpe Mfg. Co. for many years before retiring. She was a member of the Sal Mancini Sons of Italy Lodge; Manton Seniors; and a former member of St. Ann's Sodality at St. Anthony's Church.
Everyone who knew Gilda was touched by her kindness and generosity. Her greatest joy over the past two years was her two great-grandsons.
She was the devoted mother of Robert "Bob" Lawson, Jr. (NPFD Ret.) and his wife Joan of North Providence; loving grandmother of Jennifer Lawson of North Providence and Michael Lawson and his wife Filomena of Lincoln; loving great-grandmother of Zachary and Brady; and dear sister of the late Rita, Michael and Anthony Fuini.
Her funeral will be held on Wednesday at 9:45 a.m. from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Anthony's Church, 1413 Mineral Spring Ave., North Providence at 11 a.m. Entombment will be in Our Risen Christ Garden Mausoleum at St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. VISITING HOURS are Tuesday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
