Gladys V. (Varbedian) Garabedian

of Scituate, RI, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 1, 2016. She was the beloved wife of the late Charles “Garabed” Garabedian.  Born in Putnam, CT, she was the daughter of the late Alexander and Dicranouhi (Yeremian) Varbedian.

Mrs. Garabedian was an office manager in the jewelry industry for many years before retiring.  She graduated from Putman High School graduating as Valedictorian of her class. She was a member of Sts. Vartanantz Armenian Apostolic Church; and a member of Armenian Relief Society “Ani” Chapter.

Mrs. Garbedian was the devoted mother of Garo B. Garabedian and his wife Carlotta of New Canaan, CT and Armen R. Garabedian and his wife Denise of Scituate; loving grandmother of Christina Garabedian, Charles Garabedian, Armen Garabedian and Sasha Filonow and her husband Greg; and dear sister of Ruth Guertin of Charlestown, RI and the late Helen Baligian, Alice Troy, Nevart Capezza, Mabel Tolstad and Dorothy Terzian.

The family would like to thank the staff at Greenville Skilled Nursing Center, Daisy Unit for the love and care that they have given Gladys for the last five years.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Funeral Service on Friday, November 4th at 12 noon in Sts. Vartanantz Armenian Apostolic Church, 402 Broadway, Providence, followed by burial at North Burial Ground, Providence. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted.
