Grazia Savella

Grazia Savella, 88 of Johnston, passed away Tuesday January 9th, 2024. She was the beloved wife of the late Giuseppe Savella. Grazia began her life’s journey in a paese called Panni, Foggia Italy on August 22, 1935. At age 18 Grazia embarked on a voyage across the ocean where she joined her husband Giuseppe in Montreal Canada. There, they began their life together, starting their family in the process.  Years later the family finally got their dream opportunity to move to the United States and settled in Providence. With hard work and perseverance, they achieved the American dream.

Grazia was a devoted mother, sacrificing all for the good of her family. She is survived by her loving and adoring children, daughter Maria Nicolina Savella and son Vito Savella, both of Johnston. Their adoration for Grazia forever grew during final years, as dementia took hold of her life more and more as the years passed. Through it all, she maintained her amazing sense of humor and wit. Laughing and joking till the end, much to the delight of those around her.

Grazia also leaves behind a sister Giovaninna Capobianco and her husband the late Vito Capobianco, along with their son Joseph Capobianco and his wife Susan. She also leaves numerous nieces and nephews from Montreal.

We are deeply grateful to all the people at Hope Health Hospice Center. Their devotion to their work and compassion is something to behold.

Grazia, ci vediamo ancora.
