Gunnery Sergeant Andrew Guy Joseph Clermont, USMC

Age 30, tragically passed away in a motor vehicle accident on September 20, 2023. Andrew, a Gunnery Sergeant in the United States Marine Corps, is survived by his mother, Barbara (Nicky) D’Errico and father, Guy (Linda) Clermont; his sisters, Jennifer (Jeff) Parkinson, Danielle Clermont (Mark Powers), and Jamie (Peter) Nelson; his niece, Madison; his sweet Caroline Dieffenderfer; and his cherished cats, Tuukka and Zdena, in addition to many friends.

Andrew grew up in Cranston, Rhode Island and graduated from Johnston High School. In 2011, Andrew enlisted in the Marine Corps, and he served his country with honor through the day he died. Andrew courageously served five tours of duty in Afghanistan-Sangin, Afghanistan-Southern Helmand Province, Black Sea Rotation Force, and Okinawa, Japan UDP twice. He was stationed at Camp Lejeune at the time of his passing.

Andrew will be remembered for his selflessness, his sense of humor, his dedication to mentoring his peers, and his smile, which lit up every room he entered. Andrew enjoyed sharing life with his friends and family, watching his beloved Boston Bruins, and spending time with his cats, but above all, Andrew was so proud to have dedicated his life to serving his country. Andrew inspired countless people throughout his life and will be deeply missed.

Funeral services will be held at NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston at 12:00 pm on Tuesday, October 10, 2023. Burial with military honors will follow in Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter. VISITING HOURS will be held on Monday, October 9th from 4:00 – 8:00 pm.
