Harriet A. Affleck (née Henrietta Vucci) of Cranston, RI passed away after a fantastic resort vacation and a brief illness at age 89 on July 18, 2017. Harriet was the youngest of nine, born in East Providence on Flag Day, June 14, 1928.

She graduated from East Providence High School. She met her husband, John F. Affleck, under the iconic Shepard’s Clock in Providence on a blind date and later moved to Cranston after their marriage in 1949.

Harriet worked at the Boston Store in Providence as a comptometrist and occasional shoe model. She later worked at the Oaklawn Pharmacy (where Campanella’s is today) at the front register until she retired.

Harriet loved golfing with sisters, husband, and friends at Sun Valley Country Club in Rehoboth MA, Exeter Country Club, and Cranston Country Club. After fifteen years of marriage she had her only daughter, Ann.

Harriet is predeceased by her husband, John, her sisters Edith Asquino, Lena Blair, Theresa Brodeur, Phyllis Lombardo, Katheryn Marzilli, and Kay Vucci, and her brother Louis Vucci.

Harriet is survived by Ann Affleck, Ann’s husband Andrew Williams Affleck, granddaughter Marceline who was the joy of her life, sister Janet Campopiano, and her nieces, nephews, and their children.
