Helen M. Albanese (Dickerson) 83, passed on November 5th in Providence RI after a short illness.  Helen spent most of her life in Rhode Island residing in Providence, Pawtucket, Warwick, and West Warwick before retiring to York, Maine.

Helen grew up within a large family near the bay on Bullocks Point in East Providence and on her grandparent's dairy farm in Attleboro, MA.  She loved to spend days exploring the ocean with her brothers and sisters and playing among the amusements at Crescent park.  These early adventures shaped her adult interests and she planned many family events and vacations around the ocean and parks.

Helen enjoyed movies, shopping, reading, music, playing games and was an avid hobbyist.  Her hobby’s spanned ceramics and gardening to home design and fashion.  She loved to dress up, and was renowned for her style, jewelry and signature fragrances.  In particular, she loved to cook and explore new recipes, mastering Italian family dishes with ease, seeking perfection and investing her knowledge into her children.

Most of all, Helen loved her husband, children and grandchildren and she dedicated her life to nurturing them and providing a warm and wonderful home.   Annual summer vacations with her family was her joy they were always filled with fun and laughter.   She was eager to gallivant to the next outing.

In the presence of young children her smile would light up a room and she was a wonderful grandmother providing her time to help care for every new addition.  She loved to plan for special events and holidays and built strong traditions and insured all felt special.  She was generous with gifts, time and words and encouraged all of her children and grandchildren to achieve their dreams.  Helen was also a dear friend and loved to share lunch and a good conversation.

Helen is the daughter of the late Haschal C. and Myrtis (Wood) Dickerson and sister to 13 siblings.  For 64 years, she was the loving wife to the late Eugene Albanese.  She will be dearly missed by all her family, her children; Jeffrey and Mary Ellen Albanese, Marianna Cleek, Cynthia Albanese, Regina Albanese and Roger Carnie, Helen E. Albanese and Eugene and Stephanie Albanese and grandchildren Jeffrey S. and Lauren Albanese, Francesca Albanese, Angeleah Cleek, Gabrielle Pitocco, Skyesha Albanese, Joseph Oliveira, William Oliveira, Teresa Oliveira, Kristen and Chris Nachmias and great grandchildren Aubrey Velez and Reese Nachmias.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral service of Friday at 6:oo p.m. in the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston, followed by a celebratory dinner.
