Helen E. (Saccucci) DiDonato, born on November 11, 1924, in Providence, Rhode Island, passed away peacefully on January 17, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. She lived a life rich in love and dedication, leaving an indelible mark on all who knew her.
Helen devoted several decades to her career as a bookkeeper before retiring, a testament to her diligence and commitment. Her professional life, however, was just one aspect of her multifaceted existence. Helen found joy and fulfillment in her personal pursuits, which included gardening and baking. An avid reader, she cherished the worlds found in books, offering her both escape and adventure. Furthermore, she was a devoted communicant of St. Mary Star of the Sea Church, where her faith was a guiding principle in her life.
Above all, her proudest accomplishments were her family and the bonds she forged with them. Helen is survived by her beloved children, daughters, Susan Ruhle (Carl); Lynn Roberts and her son David DiDonato (Pamela); seven cherished grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren, all of whom carry forward her legacy of love and warmth. She also leaves behind several loving nieces and nephews.
Helen was predeceased by her husband, Frank DiDonato, her daughter Bette A. DiDonato, and her parents Enrico and Ernestina (Lotito) Saccucci. She also mourned the loss of her brothers Michael Saccucci and William Saccucci, and her sister Celia Corrao.
