Helen A. (Rossi) Pompei
88, formerly of Cranston, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 12, 2013 at the home of her son. She was the beloved wife of the late Armando "Bambi" Pompei. Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Emilio and Domenica (Rossi) Rossi. Helen was an inspector for the former General Electric Base Plant, Providence for twenty-five years before her retirement. She was a communicant of St. Mary's Church, Providence and was a member of the prayer ministry.
She is survived by her loving son Robert P. Pompei and his wife Shirley of Charlestown. Helen was the mother of the late David A. Pompei. She was the cherished grandmother of Lori Negrotti and Lisa McCrystal, both of Woonsocket, and the great-grandmother of seven. Helen was the sister of the late Severino, Michael, Albert, and Antonio Rossi, Esther Feragne, Antonetta Pettrucci, and Mary Carroccio. Helen is also survived by her beloved cat "Sophie".
Funeral from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston on Tuesday at 9:00 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in St. Mary's Church, 538 Broadway, Providence. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. VISITING HOURS MONDAY 4-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to, St. Mary's Church, 538 Broadway, Providence, RI 02909.
