Henry James Almagno, Jr.

August 3, 1978 — June 9, 2025

Henry James Almagno, Jr.

46, of Cranston passed away peacefully and showered in love Monday, June 9, 2025, with his best friends by his side: his mother, sister, and cousins, Jo-Anne and Keri. Born in Providence, he was the loving son and best friend to the late Henry J. Almagno, Esq. and Elaine A. Almagno (Paliotta). He also leaves behind his adoring sister, Laura M. Almagno and brother-cousin, Rich Rainone.

Henry was playful, kind, and a gentle hearted giant. He grew up with great athletic talent and loved baseball, skiing, and playing basketball with friends. He was bright, clever, quick witted, and had a natural aptitude for academics. He graduated from Bishop Hendricken High School and the University of Miami with a double major in Political Science and International Economics.

Known in the family as “Little H.,” he often dropped in on loved ones with sweet treats and coffee in hand, like his Dad. His social nature and gift for connecting with people across cultures and backgrounds kept him busy and engaged in life. Henry had many lifelong and newer friendships; he loved sharing funny stories about their time together. He appreciated the nuance of character and often recounted the special things about each of his friends. His connections also served him well in his various sales and investment ventures, where he loved any opportunity to speak Spanish and connect with new people. Most recently, he launched his own company and was building the platform on, oggood.com.

Henry enjoyed political banter and a good current events debate, especially with those who disagreed with him, which was a welcome challenge. He had an encyclopedic knowledge of athletes and sports stats and could tell you the spread - and rationale for it - on any given NFL Sunday. He has an unrivaled sport card collection and could rattle off stats and values for each. He followed and invested in the stock market as a close second to sports. He did not allow counting money at the Black Jack table and was good for riling up the players and making fast friends with dealers.

For a big presence and an uncanny ability to command a room, Henry was acutely sensitive and insightful. He proudly expressed gratitude for and to his parents, who he cherished for their eternal support through challenges, joys, and all periods of his life. He appreciated and valued his close and loving family, Auntie Barbara, talks with Uncle La, Auntie Marie, his cousins, extended family, and enduring friendships. He loved a Sunday family dinner and made sure his cat, Boy, ate just as much as the rest of us.

Little H’s sparkle is irreplaceable. His grinning green eyes and bursts of humor will forever be missed. He was the heartbeat of our family.
