70, of Briar Hill Dr., Cranston, passed away on Thursday, June 11, 2015 at Philip Hulitar Hospice Inpatient Center in Providence surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of the late Angela (Gurulyan) Shapshapian. Born in Cairo, Egypt, the son of the late Vahan and Satenik (Khorozian) Shapshapian, he lived in Yerevan, Armenia before coming to the U.S. in 1979 settling in Cranston.
John was a jewelry craftsman and worked in the jewelry industry for many years.
He was the loving father of Aram Shapshapian and Deanna Ayanyan both of Cranston; loving grandfather of Hagop Ayanyan and Ani Ayanyan; and dear brother of Shake Arslanian of Providence and Sonia Arslanian of Cranston.
VISITING HOURS are TUESDAY from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. in STS. SAHAG & MESROB ARMENIAN APOSTOLIC CHURCH, 70 Jefferson St., Providence, with a Funeral Service on Wednesday at 11 a.m., followed by burial at North Burial Ground, Providence.
