Ida J. (Castriotta) Ruggieri

82, of Cornell St., Cranston, passed away on July 1, 2017 surrounded by her loving family. Born in Providence, she is survived by her beloved husband Louis Ruggieri, her son Salvatore Ruggieri and her daughters Sally Cacchiotti and Gina Ruggieri. She was adored by her grandchildren, Shayla and Stephen Cacchiotti, Jr. and Luciano Ruggieri.

She was a daughter of the late Nichola and Antonetta (Lauriola) Castriotta. She is also survived by her brothers Joseph, Benito, and Victor Castriotta and sister Anna Lanni. She was also the sister of the late Matthew, John, Michael, Peter, Paul and Nicholas Castriotta, Carmella Hassell, Jeanette Briar and Regina Capuano.

Ida was known for her passion for cooking, her love of music, her sharp wit and fighting spirit. There was always a seat at her table for family and friends. The family would like to thank the caring team at Kent County Hospital for their compassion and would especially like to thank her longtime physician Dr. Joseph DiLorenzo and Dr. Cynthia Alves.

Funeral from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston on Thursday at 9:00 am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in St. Mary’s Church, Cranston. Burial will follow in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. VISITING HOURS will be held on Wednesday from 4:00 – 8:00 pm.
