95, of Cranston, passed away on Saturday, December 21, 2013, surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Michele Verdecchia. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Luigi and Aurelia (Dragonetti) Velletri. Ida was an inspector for General Electric Company for 29 years before her retirement.
She is survived by her children: Arlene Pilozzi and her husband John, Steven Verdecchia and his wife Sandra, Robert Verdecchia and his partner James Tell, all of Johnston; her daughter-in-laws Elvira Verdecchia of Johnston and Deborah Verdecchia of Cranston. She was the mother of the late John and Michael Verdecchia. Ida was the grandmother of 7, great grandmother of 8, and the sister of Frederick Velletri, Dolores Torti and the late Eleanor Riccitelli, Rudolph Velletri and Iris Sokoll.
Her funeral will be held from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston on Friday at 9 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Bartholomew Church, Providence. Burial will take place in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. VISITING HOURS are Thursday 5-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
