76, of Cranston, passed away on Sunday, September 21, 2014. She was the beloved wife of the late Eleftherios "Lefty" Baziotis. Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Constantine and Demetra (Psilopoulos) Poniaros.

Irene was loved and adored by everyone. "Saint like" in her ways, she always gave of her time and efforts to help others selflessly. Truly an angel from heaven, Irene is returning to the loving embrace of her mother and father. Irene was a loving yia yia, mother, sister, Auntie Irene, and friend to so many.

She is survived by her loving children, Anastasia Kaufman and her husband Brian of Cumberland, Angela Petras of Washington, DC, and Alexandra Mannock of Attleboro, MA. Irene was a loving and devoted yia yia and was survived by her cherished grandchildren Alexandra Lauren Brigido, Miles Lucas Kaufman, Samuel Adams Johnson, Amelia Demetra Johnson, and her dear sisters Pashalia Poniaros Strekouras of North Providence and Dionisia Poniaros Grammas and her husband George of Cranston, and sister and brother-in-law Elaine and Frank Masiello of Coventry, as well as many beloved nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her husband Lefty's children, Anne, Peter, Angela and their children.

Her funeral will be held on Thursday at 8:45 a.m. from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston followed by a funeral service at 10:00 a.m. in the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, Oaklawn Ave., Cranston. Burial will take place in North Burial Ground, Providence. VISITING HOURS will be Wednesday from 3:00 - 7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church Endowment Fund.
