Irene (Avedisian) Samoorian
95, formerly of River Ave., Providence, passed away on Friday, February 13, 2015 at Briarcliffe Manor in Johnston. She was the beloved wife of the late Harry Elias Samoorian, Jr. Born in North Providence, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Jennie (Chooljian) Avedisian.
Irene was an original member of Sts. Sahag & Mesrob Ladies Aid Society; and a member of Providence Women of Rotary. She enjoyed entertaining, bridge, painting and gardening.
Irene was the devoted mother of Laura I. Pesare and her husband Robert of Smithfield and the late Harry E. Samoorian, III and his wife Elaine Samoorian of North Providence; loving grandmother of Melissa Mitchell, Adam and Rebecca Pesare and Danielle, Ericka and Sara Samoorian; loving great-grandmother of twins Robert and Tyler Mitchell and Gabriella Rossi; and dear sister of the late William, Paul and Edward Avedisian and Margaret Tatewosian.
Relatives and friends are invited to her Funeral Service on Wednesday, February 18th at 11 a.m. in Sts. Sahag & Mesrob Armenian Apostolic Church, 70 Jefferson St., Providence, followed by burial at Swan Point Cemetery, Providence. VISITING HOURS are Tuesday, February 17th from 4 p.m. to 7p.m. at the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME, 1278 PARK AVE., CRANSTON.
