Irving R. Howe

93, of Shore Dr., Narragansett, passed away on Tuesday, September 13, 2016 at Philip Hulitar Hospice Inpatient Center in Providence surrounded by his loving family.  He was the beloved husband for 68 ½ years of the late Theresa L (Breault) Howe.  Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Elias and Florence (Robinson) Howe.

He was the founder and owner of the former Irving Howe Plumbing & Heating in Narragansett; former Chief of the Narragansett Volunteer Fire Dept.; and lifetime member of the Elks Lodge in Wakefield.

Irving was the devoted father of Janet T. Shumate and her husband Lawrence of Seekonk, MA and Pauline G. Howe of Wakefield; loving grandfather of Nicole Harrington and her husband Michael, Micaela Hickman and her fiancé Robert Wallace, Aaron Shumate and his wife Satsuki and Jason Shumate and his wife Kerry; loving great-grandfather of Douglas, Andrew, Connor, Hailey, Brooke and Savannah; and dear brother of the late Florence Sheehan, Bertha Waterman, Elias Howe, Marion Flanagan, Lena Coggshall and Joseph Howe.

Funeral from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME and Crematory – SOUTH COUNTY CHAPEL, 1111 Boston Neck Rd. (Rt. 1A) Narragansett on Monday, September 19th at 9 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Veronica Chapel, 1035 Boston Neck Rd. at 10 a.m.  Burial will be at St. Francis Cemetery, Wakefield. VISITING HOURS are Sunday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.
