ITALIA G. 'NONNA' (PORRECA) FIANO

78, of Cranston, passed away on Tuesday November 12, 2013 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of the late Domenico "Mimi" Fiano. Born in Cervinara, Italy, Italia came to this country in 1952 and settled on Federal Hill in Providence. She was the daughter of the late Onofrio and Pasqualina (Silvestri) Porreca. Italia worked for Universal Optical Company for 34 years, before retiring. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, and a good glass of wine with her family, and she also was a communicant of Holy Ghost Church. She was the devoted mother of Anthony Fiano and his wife Valerie, Monalina Boscia and her husband Carmen, Domenico Fiano and his wife Lisa; her loving grandchildren; Carmen, Milan, Giovanna, Domenico, Jennie, Jo-Ann, Madison and Marissa. She was the dear sister of Rita Iannuccillo, Flora DeLuca, Lucia L'Europa, Luigi Porreca and Bruno Porreca and the late Concetta Zugg, Angela Zugg, Carmino Porreca, Agostino Porreca and Fiore Porreca. Her funeral will be held on Saturday at 8:45 a.m. from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Holy Ghost Church, Providence at 10 a.m. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. Visiting hours are Friday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Kindly omit flowers.
